Al Mohler’s address to Southern Seminary…

Posted by Richard

Albert Mohler, Jr. is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. He’s one of the best thinkers that Southern Baptists have right now, so I was intrigued by what I heard about the speech he gave yesterday (August 19) at the seminary. Several attendees were Twittering (Tweeting?) live from the event, and he said some things that all Southern Baptists should take seriously.

The speech topic was the future of the Southern Baptist Convention. He gives a great overview of the Convention’s history, and explains where we are today. The most interesting part is his prescription for how we can go forward into the future, and help fulfill Christ’s command to make disciples.

It’s just over an hour long, but I think it’s totally worth it. At the link below, you can listen to or watch the speech online, or download it. Give it a listen! I think he had a lot to say about how we, as a denomination and as a local church, need to move forward.
